Media Dogs

In 2014, BJP claimed their election victory will end militancy in Kashmir. In 2016, Amit Shah announced that demonetization has ended militancy. In 2019, Amit Shah announced that amendment of Article 370 has ended militancy. They even claimed that GST will break hawala networks that will end militancy. Every few months, Indian media goes berserk claiming that the Indian government has managed to end militancy and/or stone pelting in Kashmir. In this drawing KRR explains who is spreading this news to the media.

If you are wondering why Indian media fails to ask the right questions read the following:

  1. Zee News – Owned by Subhash Chandra, promoter of Essel Group. He owns about 54% of shares in Zee group. Subhash Chandra is an “independent MP” from Haryana. In his autobiography ‘The Z factor: My journey as the wrong man at the right time’, Chandra has written about his association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, ideological parent of the BJP. Chandra won his election with the support of BJP legislators in Haryana.
  2. INDIA TV – owned by Rajat Sharma , an Ex – ABVP activist & a close friend of Arun Jaitley. Rajat Sharma was conferred the Padma Bhushan by the BJP government. BJP MP Maneka Gandhi was on the board when channel started.
  3. News 24 – Anuradha Prasad, wife of Rajiv Shukla (MP) & sister of Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP MP & Minister)
  4. JAGRAN Group – Jagran is owned Gupta family through Jagran Media investments private limited, the owners have been MPs in BJP, hence the pro-Hindu, pro- BJP views by this paper.
  5. Times Now : Times of India Group, biggest customer is BJP for its advertisements
